Carly Simon Picture
Carly Elisabeth Simon (born June 25, 1945 in New York City) is an American musician who emerged as one of the leading lights of the early 1970s singer-songwriter boom. Simon's major breakthrough was 1972's No Secrets. The album spawned several successful singles, including Simon's biggest hit, "You're So Vain". Simon continued to produce sucessful albums though the 70s and early 80s, moving into film scores after she was dropped by her record label in 1985. "You're So Vain" is a sarcastic profile of a self-absorbed lover.

Black Honeymoon Lyrics

Carly Simon

(simon/goldman/brackman)
You may think Im dumb
Or you may think youre sly
But I know what youre cravin
Ive been watchin your eyes
Theres a girl cross the room
Shes been glancin this way
Both of you wonderin
When youll have your day
(chorus)
Black honeymoon
Ill be leavin you soon
Next time maybe Ill be the girl
Across the room
Black honeymoon
Shes tossin her hair
She wont meet my stare
I turn to accuse you
You pretend shes not there
The pains not so bad
Cause Ive played thru this game
The players are different
But the moves theyre the same
Now shes gone
And youre smilin back
But my bloods turned to ice, ice, ice, ice
Now I dont feel undone
And I dont feel afraid
Theres nothing quite so cold
As the heart youve betrayed
